DOLLMAKER

Once upon a time in Newborn Kingdom, there was a Dollmaker. He had been one of the first to settle into said realm, risen from the shadows and created by the doom and gloom of the twins. One could not tell if human or species. But that didn't matter. The Dollmaker was a simple being. One that could not be fit in a box like others.

On an early wolf moon kissed morning, the Dollmaker had made his way to the market. The civilization of the village he lived in was small. Not more than two hands were filled with the first beings of New Born Kingdom. It was peaceful, the Dollmaker enjoyed it, loving the simple ways of life.

“Oh see, who have we here?”, the snarky voice of Estherling asked. Estherling was a high-grown elf, risen from the shadows.

“Who you want me to be today”, the Dollmaker said.

“See see. I see. Therefore, I see”, Estherling snickered. “How can I be for the on this dawn of the wolves?”, Estherling asked.

“With creation and imagination”, the Dollmaker said.

“How peculiar of you to say. What does the make with these?”, Estherling asked.

“A wish. By understanding creation and imagination”, the Dollmaker said.

Estherling laughed. A howling sound of mockery.

“You funny thing. But as you say, so the wish may come. I wish for us to split and be different. Create life. And when it's done, you shall leave this world, Dollmaker and the place shall be with the one mundane.”

A whisper of the wind danced along the market.

“So fair the fairness of one far from fairness”, the Dollmaker said and started to create. He listened to Estherlings wishes, who had been a lonely soul. The only soul from the shadows.

The Dollmaker created and made. A Ghost from the whisper of imagination. A Voodoo from the haunting night. A Blood waken from the liquid of his own.

Though creatures of the night were not enough. It had to be a pendulum.

To give them the chance to make things better and right.

To hold the balance, he created the Feelings, beating from his heart. The Mind, dancing from his thoughts. The Trickster from his dreams.

So it began. The Dollmaker left them and turned to the mundane. And his heart was heavy. Maybe too heavy to keep another burden. So he gave away his creation and imagination. Letting go of the thing that kept him connected. If you find someone or something you love, the balance can break you easily. So he let go.

Humans, they were so full of everything. So he had trust to learn and start again.
